Evolution of Leadership
Dedicated to the people who taught me the basic philosophy of writing and rewriting my goals everyday
I believe that we are living in the fourth industrial revolution marked by technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet-of-Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles, machine learning, nanotechnology etc. These technologies are fundamentally transforming our lives in the way we work, interact, think, and relate to one another. Even though many of these disruptive technologies are in their nascent stages but are already reaching an inflection point where they amplify on each other’s advancements. A confluence of these revolutionary technologies presents opportunities of increased industrialization, consumption, economic expansion, and wealth creation. However, it also carries potential of great peril. Issues such as income/wealth inequality, global warming, political upheaval are exacerbated by the fourth industrial revolution. That said, the most important question to be asked is what can be done about it?
I believe that dramatic changes are opportunities of self-examination and introspection. In personal life, I have taken many an initiative to help others. Here as well, I am committed to use opportunities of this revolutionary change to shape a brighter future and make the world a better place. As an industry leader of tomorrow, I think businesses must take newer approaches to not only generate profits for the stakeholders but to also create positive social and environmental outcomes. Such an approach is fundamentally different from the primacy given to shareholder returns in the past 70 years. I envision to marry the traditional ways of doing business with strategic initiatives to build a responsible business and a sustainable society.
